Electromagnetic Field Tensor and Lorentz Force as Consequence of the Geometry of Minkowskian Spacetime
It is a well known fact that the electromagnetic force acting on a charged particle cannot be obtained from Maxwell Equations having, ultimately, an empirical basis (at least from a classical standpoint). This problem have been around for many years, leaving the electromagnetic field (which we have always considered our better understood part of Physics) with an apparent, and rather curious, la...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Field Tensor and Lorentz Force as Consequence of the Geometry of Minkowskian Spacetime
We show that the electromagnetic field tensor and the Lorentz Force are both a natural consequence of the geometric structure of Minkowskian space, being related to infinitesimal boost and rotations in spacetime. The longstanding issue about the apparent empirical origin of the Lorentz Force is clarified.
متن کاملQuantum Communication in Rindler Spacetime
A state that an inertial observer in Minkowski space perceives to be the vacuum will appear to an accelerating observer to be a thermal bath of radiation. We study the impact of this Davies-Fulling-Unruh noise on communication, particularly quantum communication from an inertial sender to an accelerating observer and private communication between two inertial observers in the presence of an acc...
متن کاملStochastic Quantization of Scalar Fields in Einstein and Rindler Spacetime
We consider the stochastic quantization method for scalar fields defined in a curved manifold and also in a flat space-time with event horizon. The two-point function associated to a massive self-interacting scalar field is evaluated, up to the first order level in the coupling constant λ, for the case of an Einstein and also a Rindler Euclidean metric, respectively. Its value for the asymptoti...
متن کاملLorentz Violation and Spacetime Supersymmetry
Supersymmetry and Lorentz invariance are closely related as both are spacetime symmetries. Terms can be added to Lagrangians that explicitly break either supersymmetry or Lorentz invariance. It is possible to include terms which violate Lorentz invariance but maintain invariance under supersymmetric transformations. I illustrate this with some simple extensions of the original Wess-Zumino model.
